Piantalo! A Gesture that Takes Root
Piantalo! is more than an event — it’s a symbolic act that starts a cycle.
It’s the moment when the community comes together to plant San
Marzano tomato seedlings, right in the heart of the Sarno Valley.
After the success of the Pomodoro San Marzano Day, which celebrates the harvest, Piantalo! tells the beginning of the story: transplanting, the first contact with the soil, when everything begins.
We want to involve schools, families, and visitors in an authentic, educational experience deeply rooted in our farming culture.

Why is it important?
- Because it connects us to our roots.
- Because it teaches respect for the land and those who work it.
- Because it builds awareness, especially in the younger generations, and remember us the great power not only in agriculture, but also in tourism and marketing development of our land.

Il filo rosso
San Marzano tomatoes are more than an ingredient — they’re a bridge
between worlds. With The Red Thread, we host a roundtable with
professors from the University of Salerno, farmers, cultural
professionals, and students.
Participating departments [under construction]:
- Languages → to explore cultural exchange.
- Pharmacy → to explain the product’s properties.
- Economics → to understand place-based marketing.
Pizza Lab
In the Pizza Lab, kids, teens, and adults will learn how to use San
Marzano tomatoes on pizza. With professional pizzaioli, they’ll prepare
and taste pizza — from dough to topping.
What makes Pizza Lab special:
- A hands-on experience with real experts.
- Learning about taste and quality.
- A fun way to tell the tomato’s story — even to children.
Piantiamo saperi
Piantiamo Saperi is the educational path that brings Piantalo! into schools. In the days before the event, local experts will visit middle and high schools across the Agro-Sarnese-Nocerino area to present the project and discuss the seasonality of local agricultural products.
What students will learn:
- Local seasonal crops and when nature makes them available.
- The value of food as a cultural and tourism story.
- How social media can help them become ambassadors of their land.
